An interview with Dark_Goddess by red_chick94:
Hello Dark_Goddess. I see you are from the Netherlands! Were you born there or did you move there?
*Hiya I'm as Dutch as can be (on paper). Born and raised here. Genetically I'm Dutch / German, a crossbred so to say :P Don't expect every answer to be this simple though
Can you tell me and the readers’ one interesting fact about the Netherlands?
*Well, against popular belief: Tulips aren't native to us! And not everything is flat, plus not everyone walks on wooden shoes >< We do have normal shoes y'know.
We always like hearing about friends on here. Who are your friends on here and how did you meet them?
*Who my friends are? For starters: Those who haven't been blocked Nah, seriously, I have several real great friends. My husband, of course, but also Ludasissi, which is my real best bestie. I can't remember exactly how me met, but it sure is a long time ago. Wouldn't know what to do without her. Then there are my other friends, such as Napier, KayKay, Tropical and a couple of others, who I value and cherish as close friends. Not everyone listed is a real friend, there are some acquaintances in there as well.
I love your avatar. Do you consider yourself a spiritual person then?
*Yes, I do. I know I can practice Reiki (Asian method of energy-healing, to put it simply) as I experienced that with one of my budgies, which died last year after being very sick for a long time. I don't believe in a named Spirit, but in a Higher being. Some call it God, others name it Buddha or what not, but it's all the same to me. Names are bound to religion, thus names are non-existing to me as I don't belief in religion. I have experienced things that can't be explained by science nor religion, so they have had to be something else.
What are your views about people displaying their religion on Howrse?
*Everyone his or her own, as long as they don't bug me with it, don't try to force their belief upon me and just generally respect each other. We are with many thus we are with many different people.
You seem to be good friends with the ‘block button!’ Lol! How come you use him frequently?
*It's not that I use it frequently, but it's more like a warning. If you go too far I'll just happily click the block button so you can take your irratic rants elsewhere instead of throwing it on my back. Mind you, I do make a difference between rants and rants. If a friend has a bad day and needs to vent it I don't mind, but irratic rants (aka random rants) can expect a spicey reply and / or get blocked without a doubt.
Can you speak any other languages? If so, how did you learn these languages? Which one do you enjoy speaking the most?
*I do speak a few other languages, as stated on my page To begin with I speak Dutch, makes sense hm? Also I have quite sufficiently mastered English and German; all in speech, writing and understanding. Being able to write or read doesn't mean you understand If you count dialect as a language then it adds up to 4 languages, our local dialect is by far my most favorite language
Do you live by any quotes?
*Do I live by quotes or do they live by me? Never thought of that, to be honest. But I sure do respect Murphy's Law! "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong" I am experiencing that lately with my PC...
Do you play any other online game other than Howrse?
*Oh yes, several. Am I allowed to name them? If so, I will try to keep the list as short as possible DragonCave (has it's own topic in my forum!), StarCraft plus expansion, StarCraft II, WarCraft 3 plus expansion, Diablo, Diablo II plus expansion, Command and Conquer (whole series), Red Alert 3 (one of the few females playing that), various games on Facebook, used to play Heretic II online but hardly anyone does anymore (very old game)... I guess this sums it up pretty good. Those who wish more information about those games can PM me or create a topic in my EC forum
Do you have any pets in real life? If so, tell us about them!
*I have 4 lovely budgies (budgerigars, small parakeets). 3 guys and a little missy (hen). They all are very different from each other. Gino is our latest addition, I adopted this homeless boy last year. He is blue with a white face but we don't know his age. Then we have Kruumel (translates as bread crum), named for being tiny when we got him, he was only a 6 week old baby. He is 5 years, and he is blue with yellow face type II, which means the yellow flows through the rest of his feathers making him appear to be green. Kruumel and Gino live together. Then we have Tweety, the oldest of the club. Tweety is about 12 years now, also adopted when I found him flying around the stables a good deal of years ago. Last but not least our charming Silly, she is a pied little lady of 7 years old. Tweety and her live separated, as I had to adapt their housing completely for Silly, as she is becoming more and more disabled.
Back to Howrse. On Howrse, which breed do you favour?
*I started out as Hanoverian breeder, then feel in love with Irish Hunters, PSH's, Paints and finally the Marwari. I have no specific favorite breed, but I sure fancy my Marwari Doing pretty good in the rankings without buying passes!
Do you have a favourite companion? If so, why?
*Can I pick 2? Swallow and Cat I love birds and the swallow is a low cost but great companion for a howrse. Cat: I love cats as well and they too are great buddies for a howrse
Money wise, what makes you the most equus on here? I.e selling, blackmarket items, coverings.
*Most I get from coverings and sales. I have some great studs and having a few 'Elite' studs sure brings in bucks Even my Marwari Uni stud makes big bucks. The Marwari make good sales I noticed, especially foals off of my 'famous' mares Kali and Haimavathi.
Have you ever been the lucky receiver of someone's random act of kindness on here?
*Begin this year I posted a wanted add for a howrse with a very specific date, but I never thought anyone would find it for me, let alone sell it to me. Redneckn8 came with the howrse and sold it to me for the lowest price possible. I named the howrse accordingly of course She's easy to find. Oh, not to forget those lovely banners and pictures given by friends and players
What about in real life?
*I guess my parents have given me the biggest gift ever. After all, it was from them that I got my first horse I don't remember too much, but I suppose there have more occasions for sure. Strangers helping out with things, of course.
I see you had a Garden Project in your EC forum! Can you tell readers about it?
*I thought it would be a fun idea to share the experience of gardening. Our garden started out as a mess and ended up looking quite neat
Have you got any updates on it, or pictures?
*Heh... I feared you might bring that up. I have an update yes, but I am not proud of it: Garden is a total wreck again. It's infested by a few weeds that we can't seem to get rid off. They even killed my much beloved Hydrangea's! I can post a pic of the current situation I guess, but I wait until I know a bit more about the weeds, so I can point them out. Hopefully with a solution about how to get rid of them.
Finally... what one picture would you use to represent you? Please find an image to share with us.
*Hmm... I think you can compare me with Eeyore: Very kind and gentle, but not always as positive as he (or I) may seem. Or a Ragdoll cat: Gentle, quiet, straight forward yet myserious and hard to understand.
